We are actively seeking top talent to join the Terminal Safety Officer Team. As a TSO, you will review and control the operational safety of vessels and their interaction with Cepsa Terminals, ensuring that operations adhere to international, national, internal Cepsa regulations, and maritime industry standards.

 

The Responsibilities we will trust you with:

 

• You will conduct safety checks on vessels docked at the terminal, assessing the condition and use of loading/unloading equipment, inert gas, pollution control, firefighting, mooring equipment, vessel access, propulsion, and any other systems essential for vessel safety during terminal stays.

• You will perform pre-loading checks and re-checks as defined by ISGOTT on behalf of the Terminal Captain, which they may delegate during your working hours.

• You will verify that operations are conducted as agreed upon in pre-operation meetings between the Terminal Captain and the vessel. Monitor that no work or maintenance aboard jeopardizes terminal or vessel safety, or impedes vessel mobilization at any time.

• You will generate reports on visits and incidents during your shift, immediately informing the Vetting department and Harbor Captains of any non-compliance identified during safety and operational checks.

• You will familiarize yourself with, study, and stay updated on national and international regulations concerning maritime safety, pollution, and contamination affecting maritime transportation.

Basic Qualifications

 

• Degree and Specialization: Nautical and Maritime Transport / Naval Engineering. Ship's Captain or Marine Engineer with proven experience in petroleum product transportation.

• Languages: English.

• Other Necessary/Desirable Skills: Specialized certification in petroleum, chemical, gas tankers, inert gas, and crude washing. Advanced-level training in marine pollution response. Occupational health and safety training. Terminal or Dock Operator certification.

• Experience (type and duration): At least 2 years of service as an officer on petroleum, chemical, or gas tankers.
