The successful candidate will work within the Legal Advice (AJ) Department in Cepsa Trading. He/she will be responsible for managing the contracts in their area (including crude and products spot sales and purchases, derivatives confirmations), including the amendments received and issued within Cepsa Trading’s activity and throughout its life cycle (writing, reception, monitoring, and analysis).




  • Provide technical-legal support to other Cepsa Trading teams in relation to the contracts and amendments, and advise on other matters of legal nature, which will be interpreted and managed within the technical-legal criteria of the Legal Department.
  • Analyze the complete framework of each spot purchase and sale transaction (agreed commercial conditions, general terms and conditions of application, other contracts that may affect the specific operation).
  • Draw up the spot sales contracts that include all the agreed terms (commercial, operational, and legal), as well as the terms that protect the interests of Cepsa Group, in accordance with the legal guidelines defined by the Legal Department.
  • Review of spot purchase contracts issued by counterparties to verify that they comply with the agreed commercial terms, and identify risks and applicable terms (commercial, operational, and legal) in order to ensure legal safety for the Cepsa Group.
  • Propose and negotiate the necessary legal amendments to the contracts, and review and respond to the proposed amendments by the counterparts. Adequately follow the life cycle of each contract.
  • Maintain fast and efficient communication with all the business stakeholders (counterparts, Trading, Crude Operations/Products/Derivatives, Demurrages, Legal Department, etc.) for the successful conclusion of each operation.


  • University Degree in Law, and/or proven experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of international contracts management, trading and maritime technical knowledge (ships, ports, etc.) as well as technical legal knowledge applicable to international sales contracts subject to different laws and maritime law.
  • Advanced level of English. Knowledge of other languages is valued.
