The successful candidate will work on The RKF Redevelopment is a US$ multi-million + brownfield Project oil facilities designed to deliver in excess of 14,000 bopd of oil and encompasses over 14 new wells and the associated infrastructure.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Taking ownership of the RKF Project at FEED and assume responsibility for ensuring that the wells and associated facilities are designed and planned to ensure a safe and predictable build, test and start-up, with due regard for quality and operability, ensuring maximum value is obtained for Cepsa and its Joint Venture Partner Sonatrach.


  • Ensuring that all work and assurance is carried out in accordance with the Cepsa and Joint Venture management systems and associated procedures.  This includes the internal stage gate process (Define to Execute and Execute to Operate).


  • Leading a team of project and discipline engineers, and will work closely with HSE, Quality, Subsurface, Commercial and Operational functions throughout the project.


  • Maintaining control over cost, schedule and appropriate risk management by interfacing directly with all functions in the development.


  • Being responsible for managing all necessary regulatory and stakeholder interfaces are understood, mapped and managed appropriately.


  • Being the main interface and point of contact with the E&P Capital Projects Team and the Algerian Asset through the Joint Venture structure.  This includes representing the Project in TCMs, OCMs, as well as with Sonatrach and the regulatory authority which is ALNAFT.


  • Supporting the creation of a cadre of Project Professionals for the execution of Cepsa future Projects portfolio




  • University Degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Work knowledge of French would be beneficial but is not essential.
  •  Chartership or Project Management association would be beneficial. 
  • Both green and brown-field project management experience is essential.  
  •  Experience of 20+ years in the upstream Oil and Gas Industry, with proven track record of delivering successful capital projects across all phases of development from project sanction to production start-up.  
  • Experience in Algeria would be a plus.
  •  Fluent in English. A fluent French language skill will be well regarded.
  • The position will be based in Madrid.
